Excessive force?

Reading thoughtful essays like this one on the rescue of Elian almost make weblogging seem worthwhile again:

"The agents train in presenting the most obvious and formidable threat they can. They deliberately shout; they deliberately threaten verbally to kill anyone who even looks like they might offer resistance, because by doing so they reduce the chance that they'll actually have to do so."

It's good to know that I'm not the only scrawny, pale weblogger, not that there was any real doubt.
