Dashboard vs. Konfabulator

Those following the controversy surrounding the Dashboard feature of next year's Tiger version of Mac OS X should read John Gruber's analysis over at Daring Fireball, which looks into Dashboard's enginering and the history of Mac desk acccessories. (via a Derrick Story post on MacDevCenter.com)

Update 7/6: John's posted an follow-up in which he notes, "...what's getting lost in that coverage is that the Mac is now a platform for writing client-side Web applications."
